As calls for boycotts and a general strike grow, we’ll look to Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) history of economic resistance to help us understand today’s opportunities
Join us on Tuesday, December 2 at 1PM CT for a Virtual Power Hour with Crossroads Fund and special guest Fannie Rushing from Chicago SNCC History Project, an organization that works to preserve the history and legacy of Black resistance movements. SNCC Chicago organized alongside Black communities to challenge segregation, expand voting rights, and build grassroots political power throughout the city.
We’ll share more about our #PowerTheMovement campaign and how we’re fueling the work of organizers, mutual aid networks, and community leaders fighting for justice and dignity.
This movement is powered by activists, donors, and everyday people committed to solidarity, justice, and care. Come connect with fellow change agents in Chicago and beyond.
👉 Registration is free, but you must RSVP to receive the virtual event link.
Please fill out the RSVP form to secure your spot and access the virtual event.
About Power the Movement
Crossroads Fund is raising $1 million between now and the end of the year to sustain and strengthen grassroots movement organizations on the front lines. These are the groups doing the essential work of organizing, defending our communities, mobilizing for justice, and providing mutual aid in times of crisis.
This mobilization comes at a critical moment – when systems are failing, our communities are rising. We all have a role to play, and that includes putting our resources toward the values we believe in. Power the Movement is about collective care, solidarity, and action. Together, we can ensure these movements not only survive, but thrive.
Previous Power Hours
Virtual Power Hour: Defending Immigration Justice
In light of the current administration’s attacks on immigrants and the alarming rise in xenophobia, immigration justice work is more urgent than ever.
On Tuesday, September 16 at 12PM CST we joined together for a Virtual Power Hour to learn how Crossroads Fund is supporting grassroots groups on the frontlines of resistance.
We were joined by a special guest from Organized Communities Against Deportations (OCAD)—a collective of undocumented, unapologetic, and unafraid organizers building a resistance movement against deportations and the criminalization of immigrants and people of color in Chicago and beyond.
