2019 Annual Benefit Sponsorship, Silent Auction, Advertising Opportunities

As a public foundation, most of our income is raised from individual donors, and Seeds of Change is an important part of our fundraising strategy.

Since we gave our first grant in 1981, Crossroads Fund has distributed almost $10 million dollars in grants to 800 groups working on the most critical issues facing communities today, including housing justice, immigrant rights, worker rights, LGBTQ issues, education and more.

Seeds of Change provides a critical opportunity to bring together 500 of our closest community members, including Board, staff and volunteers, to celebrate the successes of our grantees and recharge for the work ahead.

Do you know a business or group who you would like to sponsor Seeds of Change? The Crossroads Fund Annual Benefit provides sponsors with visibility among a socially conscious consumer base and an extremely diverse audience. Crossroads Fund donors care about the communities in which they live and actively seek out businesses that share a commitment to their communities.

View this Sponsorship Flyer to learn more about sponsor benefits at our annual benefit. Sponsorship packets range from $250 - $7,500.

Do you know a business or non-profit group who may want to run a high visibility ad amongst our 500 guests? We offer business and non-profit rates ranging from $200 (Quarter Page) - $750 (Full Slide).

The Silent Auction is an integral part of our fundraising at Seeds of Change. We are always looking for new and exciting auction items to feature and you can help!

We have already begun our own solicitations (a list of people/businesses who have already been asked for items is linked here – please review before you begin soliciting items) but they are far from exhaustive. The following are examples of silent auction items that we would love to have:

  • Vacation homes (do you or a friend have a house or condo you could share?)
  • Hotel stays
  • Frequent flyer miles/airline tickets
  • Gift certificates from restaurants or local businesses
  • Spa visits
  • Tickets (plays, concerts, sporting events)
  • Unique services or experiences (tours, lessons, film screenings etc.)

If you would like to solicit an auction item, we have attached an Auction Solicitation Letter, Silent Auction donation form and our 501 (C) (3) letter. Often emailing potential donors is the best way to begin (unless you have a personal relationship with someone at the business). You can use the language below or come up with your own email intro:

“Hi, my name is _______ and I’m supporting Crossroads Fund (https://crossroadsfund.org/), a public foundation that funds grassroots organizations working on issues of racial, social and economic justice in the Chicago area. We provide vital resources to groups across the city working on issues of critical importance to our communities.

We are having our annual Seeds of Change benefit in April and we would love to feature an item from ______ in our silent auction.

Information on our benefit and a silent auction donation form are attached. Please let me know if you need any additional information or whether you are interested in donating an auction item.

Thank you so much for your consideration.”

Completed paperwork should be returned to Katie Madden (katie@crossroadsfund.org). Please let Katie know ASAP (you can send her an email) what items/businesses you are soliciting to avoid duplication of efforts. You can also contact her with any questions you might have at katie@crossroadsfund.org or (773) 227-7676.
